This historical monument is a must-see while visiting Bennington. It is a 306-ft. tall structure made with a slender stone column that commemorates the famous Battle of Bennington in the Revolutionary War. And, it’s a marvel.
The column dates back to 1877 when a historical society began planning to build a monument for the battle’s centenary. And although private homes currently surround the Bennington monument, you can still easily find it.
You can reach the top using an elevator, but it has around 470 stairs that are currently closed. Before going up the elevator, you need to purchase a ticket for $1 to $5, depending on age, from the gift shop….
