I regularly visit IJ-Hallen, and the easiest way to get there from Amsterdam Centraal Station is by taking the free ferry service. To do this, head to the rear side of the train at Amsterdam Centraal Station and look for the ferry stop. Here, you will find ferry service 906 going towards NDSM-Werf.
The ferry ride only takes about 15 minutes and allows you to enjoy the Amsterdam skyline as you cross the IJ River. Ferries run every half hour, so there’s no need to worry about waiting too long.
