Now although we flew into Puno from Cusco to see Lake Titicaca, we’d been told the train journey from Puno back to Cusco was one of the prettiest, not just in the country but in the world. *Sidebar – we actually flew into Juliaca and then took a long taxi ride to Puno.
It’s a much more expensive way to get back to Puno (it’s like full-on meals and drinks included luxury train experience) and it’s about 10 hours long but the stunning scenery on your way here and the diversity of sights to see meant that this was one we were very keen to add to our travel plans.
Here’s what the journey from Puno (and Lake Titicaca) to Cusco is actually like.
