What is punting on the Avon River? It’s a gondola ride on a boat known as a punt. Dressed in Edwardian attire, a skilled punter takes you slowly through the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Visitors love to sit back and relax on their punts as they go for a gondola ride while watching the wildlife and scenery along the Avon River.
Tours depart from 2 Cambridge Terrace, Christchurch Central, every day from 9 am to 6 pm. It costs $30 NZD for adults and $ 15 NZD for kids.
