A US couple was left behind by Norwegian Cruise Line in Spain on Monday, 29 April, as they were late getting back to the ship.
Richard Gordon, 84, told CNN he is an “experienced traveller” and has never missed catching a cruise on time.
He and his wife Claudene, 81, had gone to Grenada independently while the ship was docked in Montril.
Gordon said their bus back was delayed, meaning they missed the all-aboard time, but had notified a relative on board who alerted staff – but they said nothing could be done.
They flew to Mallorca where the cruise arranged travel back to the ship.
Norwegian told CNN there is a small window of time where late guests can be accommodated, but the Gordons arrived outside of this.
