So after our full day exploring Wadi Rum (you can see all of that in this blog post here), we decided to finish things off with some tea and music with the locals as we watched the sun set.
We did scramble up higher for a view over the desert to make the most of the last bit of sunshine before convening below for tea.
Also, when you’re in Wadi Rum, it’s kinda important to remember that you’re in a desert because the minute the sun starts to dip, the colder it starts to get.
This is, by the way, why we needed that fire. To warm up.
Well, that and the fact that they needed something to boil the water for the tea with.
Once the sun had properly set, we packed up and set off back to our ‘home’ in Wadi Rum – Memories Aicha Luxury Camp, for dinner and to just relax before packing up for our next spot in Jordan.
The following moring, we got picked up again in a similar truck and made our way through the desert to the entrance where our pre-arranged car awaited to take us to our next destination in Jordan – Aqaba.
Aqaba is actually the city we flew into when we arrived in Jordan so deciding to stay here as our final stop was very much intentional.
Aqaba is also the only city in Jordan by the coast and is famous for being a place people go on holidays in Jordan in as it’s right next to the Red Sea and it’s crystal clear waters.
Our entire plan for Aqaba was to lean into what it’s famous for and that’s a nice bit of rest and relaxation.
With that in mind, we booked into the Al Manara, a Luxury Collection Hotelwhich is quite the treat.
The rooms are so nice and spacious and the hotel is right on the beach so it’s just so nice and easy to relax in.
I wanna tell you we did lots of exploring while we were here or that we even went snorkelling around this area but honestly, the most strenuous thing we did was make our way over to the spa for massages and go for dinner right after.
Our flight was the very next morning and we fully intended on leaving Jordan nice and relaxed.
So that’s it.
That’s what we got up to in Jordan. Just in case you missed it – here’s what we got up to Petra on our first proper day (and what we did later that afternoon).
Then here’s what we did when we went travelling to the Dead Sea and also looking for incredible historical sights across Jordan.
Then…
