Getting to Scenic Rim from Brisbane

First, let’s cover how to get there. The nearest airport to the Scenic Rim region is Brisbane Airport (BNE) and Gold Coast Airport (OOL). You can pick up a car rental from either of these airports, if you don’t have your own car.

While you can travel around the Scenic Rim region via rail or guided tour, we recommend hiring a car and driving yourself as it gives you more freedom, and some of these spots you can’t reach on public transport.

From Brisbane, you will need to drive out of the city via Ipswich Boonah Road/State Route 93.

Once you have reached the town of Boonah, about 1 hour’s drive from Brisbane, you have entered the Scenic Rim region.

The towns that make up the Scenic Rim region are Aratula, Beaudesert, Beechmont, Boonah, Canungra, Harrisville, Kalbar, Kooralbyn, Peak Crossing, Rathdowney, and finally, Tamborine Mountain.
