Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have a new joint loyalty program called Atmos Rewards, which replaces Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan (effective immediately) and HawaiianMiles (later this year).

As part of the new launch, there are some very interesting changes coming on the elite status and credit card front, as well as new terminology to get used to.

In this article, we’ll provide a quick overview of Atmos Rewards and what you can expect from the program for the rest of this year and into 2026.

Atmos Rewards: The New Loyalty Program for Alaska Airlines & Hawaiian Airlines

Atmos Rewards is the newest loyalty program to launch in the United States. It’s a combined program that will be used by both Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, which came as a result of Alaska Airlines acquiring Hawaiian Airlines last year.

Effective immediately, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan has been replaced by Atmos Rewards, which means that your Alaska miles are now Atmos Rewards points.

When you sign into your account, you’ll notice this change (as well as a number of other branding changes).

Meanwhile, HawaiianMiles continues to exist, but will be replaced by Atmos Rewards as of October 1, 2025. HawaiianMiles accounts will be inaccessible from September 26–30, 2025, as the program is migrated to Atmos Rewards.

There aren’t any changes to the cost for award flights, which means that if it cost 55,000 Alaska miles to fly one-way from Calgary to Frankfurt in Condor business class, it’ll cost 55,000 Atmos Rewards points to book the same flight.

Atmos Rewards Status

Going forward, there will continue to be four tiers of status in Atmos Rewards, as there are with Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Note that these names/requirements take effect in 2026, and qualifying for status with Alaska Airlines remains unchanged through the rest of 2025.
