Middlesex and Sarnia-Lambton Ontario Weekend Getaway – A 2 Day Itinerary

When you’re short on vacation days and seeking a unique, fun, and adventurous escape from the big city, we often turn to the Ontario’s Southwest region for inspiration. This part of Ontario has some of the best places to road trip to because there are so many incredible counties that are off the radar and surprisingly bountiful in experiences.

An adventure we’ve been wanting to do is a Middlesex and Sarnia-Lambton, Ontario weekend getaway. I’ll admit that this mouthful probably isn’t something that you would casually slip into your summer patio conversations but trust me, it’s somewhere that we absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a 2 day itinerary that’ll get you outside of the house and explore your own backyard.

Middlesex and Sarnia-Lambton Ontario 2 Day Itinerary

So what inspired us to see more of Ontario’s Southwest? It started with our incredible experience in Oxford County where we followed the Oxford County Cheese Trail and uncovered many gems along the way.

With this 2 day itinerary covering Middlesex and Sarnia-Lambton, we looked to explore neighbouring counties in Ontario’s Southwest. Not only did this meet our expectations, but it exceeded what we expected to find there.

This is definitely worthy of being added to our best weekend Ontario road trips.

Only taking 2.5 hours to get from Toronto to Middlesex County, this weekend getaway is easy to do either as a 1 night trip or a full 2 nights if you’re not in a rush.

Day 1 – Middlesex County

For your first day of the 2 day weekend getaway from Ontario, you’ll be driving to Middlesex County. If you’re like us and coming Toronto, it’s a lot closer than you think!

As you’re about to see, Middlesex will surprise you. From the highway, you’ll see the rural farms that feed the province but if you know where to go, you’ll be able to discover a bounty of local experiences and superb dining.

Stop 1 – Kustermans Adventure Farm
