After 4 amazing days riding a BMW F700GS motorbike through Morocco with Reda Jabri PALM ROAD, we’ve been travelling to even more amazing places, this time with a 4X4 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, courtesy of Mr Hesham of Safasud Cars in Marrakesh.
Morocco Road Trip Day 1
We started on Tuesday, with a stunning 5 hour drive from Marrakesh, over the High Atlas Mountains and back down again to the city of Tarroudant, famous as one of Morocco’s fruit producing regions and top producers of Argan Oil. Morocco has fantastic roads, so 4 wheel drive is not needed in most places, but it was nice to have the extra reassurance through the twisting mountain roads and occasional muddy section where the snow had melted!

We spent the night at Dar Zitoune, a relaxing, luxury resort filled with beautiful fruit trees and our bungalow style room was only a few steps away from the swimming pool and heated Jacuzzi!

Morocco Road Trip Day 2
The next day we drove for four 4 hours, first heading west to the coast, then north along the coast with amazing cliff-top views all the way to the small surf town of Sidi Kaouki, stopping to watch the sun set behind the trees into the ocean, before arriving at Rebali Riads, where we had a luxury villa with our own private, heated plunge pool, manicured garden alive with singing birds. We had a grilled fish dinner in the open plan living and dining room with a log fire blazing to keep us warm.

Morocco Road Trip Day 3
We left Sidi Kaouki and Rebali Riads (arranged by Fleewinter) at around 11am, for the 20 minute drive north into Essaouira, a historic port town on the west coast of Morocco, with beautiful, ancient city walls and a thriving fishing port. One of Essaouria’s more recent claims to fame is as the location of the freeing of the great slave army in Game of Thrones, although the city has a lot more to offer. We had a lovely dinner and comfortable bed at the Palais Des Remparts, Essaouira.
