Air Canada and American Express have teamed up to offer some incentives to book travel through to the end of the year.
From now until May 19, 2023, you can earn 10x Aeroplan points per dollar spent on up to $750 in purchases made with Air Canada or Air Canada Vacations if you use an American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card or an American Express Aeroplan Business Reserve Card to pay.
The 10x points is inclusive of the points you’d regularly earn on these purchases, which means that you’re effectively earning 7x bonus points per dollar spent.
In addition, there’s also a 15% discount code that has been sent out for flights within Canada and to the United States and Sun destinations, which should help stretch your dollars a bit farther.
Aeroplan Reserve Cards: 10x Points on Air Canada Purchases
With this promotion, you can earn a 10x Aeroplan points per dollar spent on Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations purchases, on up to $750 spent.
Your flights must be booked between May 1–19 to be eligible for the bonus points, and you’ll need to pay with an American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card or an American Express Aeroplan Business Reserve Card.
This 10x earning rate is inclusive of the regular 3x earning rate on Air Canada purchases on these cards, so you can also think of its 7x bonus Aeroplan points on up to $750 spent.
This means that you could earn up to a total of 7,500 Aeroplan points if you were to maximize the offer.
Additionally, the invitation-only American Express Air Canada Card also qualifies for the 7x bonus points; however, the lower-tier American Express Aeroplan Card does not.
There’s no need to register for this promotion, since all cardholders will automatically be eligible.
Moreover, some individuals would’ve received marketing emails from Amex about this promotion, but you’ll still be eligible even if you haven’t received an email.
It’s important to note that to be eligible for the bonus points, you’ll need to book your flight directly with Air Canada as the merchant, including Air Canada Vacations packages purchased directly from Air Canada. This suggests that purchases made across Air Canada’s sales channels, including its website, call centre, and sales offices, will all qualify.
