Travel expert Simon Calder has shared tips on how to avoid extra charges at the airport.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the journalist reacted to news that an elderly couple were charged £110 by Ryanair after mistakenly downloading incorrect boarding passes.
Discussing how passengers can avoid these types of extra charges, Calder urged people to speak to “a friendly travel agent” or the airline directly before arriving at the airport to confirm what they need to bring.
“There are ways of sorting these things out,” he added.
