Visitors are advised to wear appropriate footwear and bring plenty of water and snacks for the journey. It is also recommended to visit the falls during the dry season, which runs from November to May, as heavy rains during the wet season can make the trail slippery and dangerous.
How to Get There
Bayugin Falls is located in Barangay San Francisco, Bulusan, Sorsogon. It is approximately 2.5 hours away from Legazpi City and 3.5 hours from Naga City. The nearest airport is Legazpi Airport, which operates daily flights to and from Manila.
From Manila, travelers can fly to Legazpi City or Naga City. Alternatively, they can take a bus from Manila to Sorsogon City and then transfer to a jeepney or van bound for Bulusan. Jeepneys are the most common mode of transportation in the area and can be found at the Sorsogon City terminal.
Once in Bulusan, visitors can take a tricycle or habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) to Barangay San Francisco. From there, they need to take a short trek and climb 278 steps down to reach the waterfalls. The hike is quite tiring and challenging, so wearing light clothing and appropriate hiking sandals is recommended during the hike.
