Crab Shack Dabaso is a unique seafood restaurant set amongst thick mangroves, offering a memorable dining experience. This restaurant is community-run and was established by a local conservation group to offer scrumptious meals and promote eco-activities in the Mida Creek ecosystem.
It’s one of the best local restaurants in Watamu, thanks to its friendly staff and great location overlooking the beautiful creek. You can expect a menu that features an array of options, including fish, octopus, oysters, lobster, crabs, and prawns, along with an assortment of fresh juices, bottled beers, cocktails, and wines.
I highly recommend trying the giant Mida crab, the mixed seafood grill, and the crab samosa. Additionally, Crab Shack is an ideal spot for birdwatching, taking strolls along a mangrove boardwalk, and catching breathtaking sunsets.
