New CIBC Aeroplan Credit Card Offers for Fall 2023

CIBC has released the latest round of offers on its Aeroplan co-branded credit cards.

This time, the welcome bonuses have dropped on the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card and the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card, while the signup bonuses on the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Card and the CIBC Aeroplan Business Visa Card remain steady.

Let’s take a closer look at the state of CIBC’s Aeroplan co-branded credit card offers, which are valid as of November 2, 2023, and have no listed expiry date. 

CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card: Up to 30,000 Aeroplan Points + First Year Free

The CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card has dropped its welcome bonus down to 30,000 Aeroplan points, which is down from its previous offers of 45,000–50,000 points earlier this year. There’s also now a larger minimum spending requirement to unlock the anniversary boost of points.

The structure of the current offer is as follows:

• 10,000 Aeroplan points upon making your first purchase
• 10,000 Aeroplan points upon spending $4,000 in the first four months
• 10,000 Aeroplan points as an anniversary bonus upon spending at least $15,000 in the first year

In addition, this annual fee for the primary cardholder ($139) and the first three supplementary cardholders ($50) is rebated for the first year.

It’s worth noting that the current welcome bonus is the lowest we’ve seen on this card in over three years.

As a reminder, the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card offers the following earning rates on everyday spending:

• Earn 1.5 Aeroplan points per dollar spent on eligible groceries, gas, and Air Canada purchases
• Earn 1 Aeroplan point per dollar spent on all other eligible purchases

Meanwhile, the card’s key benefits for cardholders include preferred pricing for Aeroplan redemptions on Air Canada, as well as a free first checked bag for you and your party on Air Canada flights.

Lastly, the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite requires either $60,000 in annual personal income or $100,000 in annual household income to be eligible to apply.
