This beautiful and historic southwestern UK city is full of fun activities from interesting, interactive museums to spectacular sightseeing. The great restaurant and bar scene also makes it an ideal destination for an intimate break, and within this post, I’ve put together a list of 15 of the most romantic things to do in Bath to help you plan your special break.

My husband, Rob, and I recently spent 2 months pet-sitting in Bath and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The city itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is full of captivating history. It’s also home to two universities and a thriving tourism industry. There’s always plenty going on and there are lots of romantic things to do in Bath for couples.

Bath dates back to the Roman times, when spas and temples were built around the area’s natural hot springs. Many monuments and historically significant features remain to this day and make Bath a similar experience to exploring some of the more famous historical cities in Europe.

There’s plenty of British charm in this sweet city too; with Victorian and Georgian architecture adorning almost every street.

The time I spent in Bath with my husband was amazing. Although both originally from the UK, we hadn’t been back to our home country for a couple of years. It was nice to experience British life again whilst feeling every day like we were on a romantic European city vacation.

Here are 15 of the best romantic things to do in Bath for couples, and loved ones:

1. Prosecco River Cruise

Number 1 on my list of top romantic things to do in Bath has to be a river cruise with a glass of Prosecco in hand. Bath sits on the beautiful Avon River, a delightful addition to the cityscape of the town center. You can walk along its banks, cross over several ornate bridges, or enjoy the sights from the water.

A 1-hour river cruise is a great way to see the city from a different view. The tranquil river route takes in a number of Baths’ most beautiful sights and the peaceful, natural scenery of the river in one sitting. Enjoy a couple of glasses of prosecco hand-in-hand with a loved one as the city surrounds you.

There are a couple of river cruises available, but I highly recommend you book this one. It includes two glasses of Prosecco and has options for larger group bookings, bottomless Prosecco, and gin tasting too. Click here to find out more.
