Located on the Turquoise Coast of Turkey is the stunning city of Antalya, known for its Roman and Greek history, blissful beaches, historic Old Town, and delicious foodie scene.

Needless to say, there are plenty of things to do in Antalya to make it worth staying a while.

Ataturk, Turkey’s founding father, once described Antalya as “the most beautiful place on earth”.

While that might be a bit of biased hyperbole, there is no doubt that Antalya is stunning.

The historic marina surrounded by dramatic cliffs and ancient city walls, the long city beach with the Taurus Mountains looming in the background, and the charming old city of Kaleici, all make Antalya a photographer’s dream.

If you’re not sure what to do in Antalya, below are some unmissable attractions and places to see!

Best Things to Do in Antalya

1. Explore the Old Town

Hadrians Gate

The most interesting place to explore in Antalya is the old city, Kaleici. It’s surrounded by ancient stone walls, including a Clock Tower and a Roman Arch known as Hadrian’s Gate, named after the Roman Emperor Hadrian.

You’re guaranteed to get lost in the winding cobblestone streets, but don’t worry, that’s part of the fun, and the locals are used to giving directions.

You can also take a walking tour of the neighborhood if you want to learn more about the history.

The Kaleici area is the only part of town where you’ll see Ottoman architecture, as both Lara and Konyaalti are full of modern concrete apartment buildings.

Be sure to check out the Yivli Minare Mosque, a 13th century mosque, and Sehzade Korkut Mosque, also known as “broken minaret mosque,” for some earlier examples of Islamic architecture.

The most beautiful part of the Old Town is Kaleici’s harbor, also known as The Roman Harbour, and is where you can book to take a boat trip to explore the outer islands. The boat trips take you to see Antalya’s coastline, swim in pristine coves, and eat freshly caught and grilled fish.

2. Visit the Archeological Museum
