Plus, it’s really NOT all about the Manneken Pis — but such can already be a good start as a distinct way of showing someone the quirky side of this multicultural city. Besides, other than being the center of Belgium, did you know that it is also the heart and capital of Europe? TRIVIA: Most of the people here speak French which was weird for me because there were so many times that I almost felt like I was in France! Anyhow, they speak Flemish too (a local dialect of Dutch used by most Belgians) but people in Brussels prefer to speak in French. This makes the city officially bilingual and you will see that most road signs, street names, etc. are always in both French and Flemish.
